I Won! I Won!

I am definitely one of those people who always says "I never win anything". Now, I do win the occasional hand of poker during Ladies Poker Night, or at Team Sports like kickball and football, and 2 years in a row I actually won the office March Madness Pool. But Contests. They always seem to allude me. Always. But nope, not today. No sirree bob.

Great Summer Read

Though summer is half over, there is still plenty of time to vacation and I highly recommend throwing this book in your beach bag. I read it on vacation last week and could barely put it down. It's "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett, and it's #5 on the NYTimes Best Seller List for Hardcover Fiction. Here's a synopsis:

In Jackson, Mississippi, in 1962, there are lines that are not crossed. With the civil rights movement exploding all around them, three women start a movement of their own, forever changing a town and the way women--black and white, mothers and daughters-

Now the only question is what in the world am I going to read on our next get away coming up soon?!?!

AHH, Back from Vacation...

...and totally relaxed. However, I think that one week is about all I can stand of being unplugged. I didn't bring my computer because there is no internet access at my parents' beach house and no neighbors strong enough to 'borrow' from!
I sure did miss all my blogger friends and now find myself here at work on Monday morning scrambling to catch up on everyone's happenings!!
I did manage to snap some shots of our 8 days of lounging around at the beach.
