This year is special year -- the first Christmas in our new house! With that came buying a lot of new stuff and a lot more DIYing. Other than ornaments that did not fit our color schemes this year and a garland made for a long stair banister (which we no longer have), we used everything we already owned!
Den (the one day Game Room)
Kitchen
Epson Salt, glitter, double-sided tape are a theme throughout. Can you spot them all? |
Living Room (where we spend most of our time) Our large tree and our huge new mantel. You can see & read more on our one and only mantle (versus the 5 we had in The Old House) here which I linked up to a couple of parties.
DIYed Mercury glass candle holders using pieces from Dollar Tree glued together. |

Living Room Looking into Den. |
Love the spinning disco balls |
Dining Room
Going upstairs (window is where the 1921 house ended. an addition was added in 2006-7 we think.)
Master Bedroom |
First year our 3 year old Christmas cactus has bloomed! |
Got this table on Craigslist for $5. Planning on doing a chalk paint finish on it. |
Outside
The topiaries are DIYed because I just couldn't pay $70 or more each at Lowes. I bought the trees at Big Lots for $14.88 each, the urns from Lowes for $11 each, liquid nailed the trees into the urns and added $6 worth of marble chips from Lowes for weight. Total worth the extra effort.
DIYed wreath |
Got this at a thrift store for $4. It is gianormous. |
Add Dollar store picks and HobLob ornaments |
